A JUNIOR football club has said it is “deeply saddened” after a supporter collapsed and died shortly after the end of a weekend match.
Gordon Sheach passed away at the end of Neilston Junior’s Saturday game despite efforts by two physios to save his life.

In a statement the club said: “The club is deeply saddened with the passing of supporter Gordon Sheach at the end of yesterday’s match.
“We wish to thank everyone from Neilston & @pollokfc including both physios, who tried so hard to help Gordon.
“Our sincerest condolences go to Gordon’s wife, family & friends.”
An eye-witness told how the man had collapsed just as he was leaving the game.
He said: "Right at the final whistle, both sets of supporters started to head for the gates.
"Suddenly, a group started to shout that a man had collapsed right outside the gates.
"He stays only about 500 yards from the stadium.
"A couple of fans had the right sese of mind to run to the Neilston and Pollock physios and they tried to help him.
"An ambulance then arrived and paramedics tried to save him but after a while they said he had died at the scene.
"It is absolutely tragic."
Other junior clubs reached out to offer their condolences on Twitter including Clydebank FC who posted: "Really sad news - condolences from everyone here at the Bankies."
