THE UK electorate made a huge mistake in the December General Election by voting in an extreme right-wing Tory government.
We have a part-time Prime Minister (we know the real PM is a non-elected advisor) who treats Scotland with absolute contempt and ministers who address Scottish MPs in an almost racist context. In terms of the drug crisis in Scotland we are seeing citizens dying on a daily basis, and the Westminster Government responds to any suggestions to help the situation with scorn and outright rejection.
They have even told the London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, that he is not welcome to attend the Cobra meeting to discuss strategy on the coronavirus emergency.
This is a Government fast turning into a quasi-fascist administration which is intolerant to any criticism or constructive suggestion.
Time for Scotland to choose a more progressive way forward, as we deserve much better than this.

THE council are only “fire-fighting” the problem (Public spot tens of thousands of potholes more than Glasgow council experts, March 2).
Potholes filled less than four weeks ago are appearing again. Driving is like being on the dodgems at the moment to avoid damage to cars. Even driving slowly over the ones that can’t be avoided is dangerous as when you see them you’re having to slow down suddenly.
Night driving is particularly hazardous and then there’s the ones filled with rain water that you can’t see how deep they are!

IF Glasgow has the fifth-best roads out of 32 regions then I fear greatly for the 27 regions worse than Glasgow.
There are potentially lethal potholes on every road in the West End, one in particular I know of which shakes my friend’s entire house when trucks go over it.
The only winner here are the garages dealing with the huge amounts of busted axles and wheel repairs.

I JUST watched a video of a 57-storey hospital being built, kitted out and operational in China all within 19 days bythe Chinese Build Group. Yes, DAYS!
Come on Boris, get this company signed up immediately to build the UK hospitals you have promised us. Perhaps Nicola Sturgeon could get them to build our ferries in their spare time!
