STEVEN DAVIS admits talk is cheap at Rangers as Steven Gerrard's side look to win over a disgruntled Ibrox support.

The Gers saw their last realistic chance of silverware this season ended on Saturday as they lost to Hearts in the Scottish Cup.

Boss Gerrard has reaffirmed his long-term commitment to Rangers as he attempts to end their wait for success as quickly as possible.

The visit of Hamilton this evening is next on the agenda and Davis knows the Light Blues have points to prove to show they can lift trophies.

Davis said: “We have a good level of youth and experience in our team. But until you go on and win something together then questions are always going to be asked.

“We can’t affect that. But this group of players wants to be successful and we are doing everything we possibly can on the training pitch.

“Of course your confidence is going to be knocked with the results we’ve had. That’s natural.

“It’s important we stick together and bounce back as quickly as we can.

“It’s up to us, the more experienced lads, to offer guidance to the dressing room.

“You feel the onus more. That comes with the territory. The dressing room is really hurting.

“The manager, the coaching staff and the fans are all the same.

“But the responsibility lies with the players as we are the ones who go on the pitch and we are the ones who need to try and improve.

“I don’t doubt the quality we have in the dressing room and we’re more than capable of going on a winning run.

“But talk is cheap at the end of the day and we need to start showing, we have an opportunity to do that starting against Hamilton.”
