GLEN KAMARA hopes victory over Ross County was the first step in the right direction for Rangers after a turbulent few weeks.
Steven Gerrard's side got back to winning ways as Ryan Kent netted the only goal of the game in Dingwall.
The Gers have seen their silverware ambitions ended after defeats to Hearts and Hamilton in recent times but Kamara is pleased to be heading into the Europa League clash with Bayer Leverkusen on the back of a much-needed win.
He said: “We are delighted to win the game and hopefully we can build up our form from here on in. It is a hard place to come and it takes character and fight to win here. We weren’t at our best but we will take the win.
“Going on from the results we have had recently there was pressure on us in this game. We just had to stay focused and get the win and we have done that. Hopefully this result can silence some of our critics and we can go and build on it now.
“We had the belief that the goal would come as we have some quality players. We also think we can unlock the door and we did that in the end. We have to use this result and hopefully take this win and give us a bit of confidence.
"We had a talk after the Hamilton game about things. All the boys and staff were there and we wanted to get a win and we have.
"It is important everyone sticks together when things are tough. Now we want to keep delivering on the pitch for the rest of the season.
“It is a huge week for the club but it is one we are all looking forward to. Now we want to deliver good performances. Some people write us off in Europe and they don’t expect us to get results so hopefully we can prove them wrong.”
