PEOPLE affected by dementia will have access to a playlist of music that aims to trigger lost memories, thanks to a charity’s funding.

Battle Against Dementia, run by Dougie McCluskey, is providing elderly people with equipment to allow them to access a Playlist for Life, the charity launched by BBC anchor Sally Magnusson.

He is pictured with Billy Reid, who has dementia and his wife Julie at Ceartas in Kirkintilloch, which provides advocacy services for people with a range of medical conditions.

Battle Against Dementia is to host a celebrity golf tournament in May to raise cash for a new fund that aims to help ex-footballers affected by the dementia.

The Billy McNeill Fund will be officially launched at the Mar Hall event on May 29.
