DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a man in Carnwadric will investigate whether his death was linked to a woman falling from his high rise window last month.

Police said the tragic incident is one line of enquiry they will consider while investigating the murder of Alan Ritchie.

The 61-year-old was discovered with very serious injuries within a flat in Kennishead Avenue on Tuesday night following a violent attack.

That same flat was where a woman, 56, tragically fell from a window on February 3 although cops say the incident was not suspicious.

The Scottish Sun claim sources said two suspects that police are looking for in connection with the murder could have known the woman and blamed Mr Ritchie for her death.

Police Scotland's Major Investigation Teams previously said the attack was not random.

They are looking for two men who entered the property prior to Mr Ritchie's death.

Detective Inspector Alan McAlpine at the Major Investigation Teams (West) said: "It is vital that we trace these men as they may be responsible for the assault on Mr Ritchie."

The suspects are described as both white and in their 20s. One was wearing a black ‘North Face’ jacket, black jogging trousers, and black raining shoes.

The other was wearing a green parka jacket with fur lining around the hood and orange detail on the left sleeve, light grey jogging trousers, and black training shoes.

DI McAlpine added: “Anyone who recognises the descriptions of the two men or has any other information that could assist our investigation is asked to contact police via 101 quoting incident number 4100 of 10 March 2020.

"Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained."
