Susan Aitken has survived a challenge as SNP group leader and as such leader of Glasgow City Council.
Ms Aitken, the first SNP council leader in the city, narrowly saw off a challenge at the group AGM by City Treasurer, Allan Gow.
Ms Aitken was re-elected leader by SNP councillors by 19 votes to 17.
Party rules mean she cannot be challenged for another year.
David McDonald was re-elected Depute Leader.
Ms Aitken and Mr Gow faced off at the SNP group AGM in the City Chambers today.
It is understood Mr Gow believed he had enough support to take over as leader but fell short on the day.
Last week the Glasgow Times reported how Ms Aitken sacked the group business manager, John Letford.
Ms Aitken has been SNP Group leader since 2014 when Graeme Hendry stood down. She led the party into the 2017 council elections which saw the SNP become the largest party, removing Labour from office for the first time in decades.
Since 2017 she has led a minority administration at the council.
