Brel

The popular Ashton Lane eatery has announced it has closed its doors for the foreseeable future. 

The West End restaurant has been a staple of the Glasgow bar scene for years. 

In a statement on social media, staff said: "It's with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Brel from today (Wed, March 18). 

"The decision has not come lightly, but these are unprecedented and uncertain times for everyone. We're working on supporting our team, our customers, and everyone we work with." 

Brel's sister restaurants, including Jacques, in Finnieston, has also shut its doors. 

Paesano and Sugo 

The two sister restaurants have announced they will close temporarily.

AXM

AXM Nightclub has announced they are temporarily closing.

The Stand Comedy Club

The Stand Comedy Club has announced that its Glasgow venue will close until April 13, along with the company's other venues in Edinburgh and Newcastle. 

In a post on their website, they said: "Due to the Government announcement yesterday, we have taken the decision to cancel all immediate shows in our Edinburgh, Glasgow & Newcastle venues until Monday 13th April. This will be reviewed on an ongoing basis."

Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT)

The GTF has announced it will close until April 17. Tickets purchased online for shows until 16 April will be automatically refunded.

Ox and Finch & Ka Pao

The two sister restaurants announced they are closing. A statement reads: "We await further information from the government relating to COVID-19 and hope for more clarity on what we should do."

Eighty-Eight

The Finnieston joint took to Instagram to announce they too will close. They said: 

"It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that we will suspend trading at Eighty Eight for the time being. We all find ourselves in a difficult situation and the safety of our staff and customers remain our priority. We all find ourselves in uncertain times and are filled with worry and anxiety over what the future may hold."

"Now more than ever a community spirit is needed. Something which we will stride to provide at Eighty Eight. We will now be working behind the scenes to provide the local community with support we think we all need."

Pot Belly

The Strathbungo brunch spot will be closing from tomorrow (Wednesday). 

They announced on their Instagram that they will be "looking to donate our food to any food banks and support those most in need". 

Ramen Dayo 

Ashton Lane's own wee Ramen Joint will be operating from a takeaway service tomorrow only, through Deliveroo.

The Hug and Pint on Great Western Road announced it will be closed until further notice. The pub also set up an online Hardship Fund to support its staff via a crowd fundraising page. View the full article here.

Move Studios

City centre dance and yoga studio Move Studios have announced they will be closed until further notice. A statement reads: "Move isn't going to disappear... please stay tuned."

Inn Deep

West End's Inn Deep will be closed until futher notice. A statement reads: "This has not been an easy decision to make but the health of our amazing staff and the health of every single one of our customers has to be our main priority in this scary time. 

The Admiral

Dear Patrons / Punters, in accordance with Government advice the Admiral is closing immediately this evening 16/03/20. We hope this will be a very short term measure , and are acting for the well being of staff and customers. Thank you all for your support, keep well The Admiral.

Thornwood Bar

Glasgow Times:

A statement last night read: In the light of the announcement from the FM we feel it is appropriate to close the doors to the public from 10pm tonight.

We clearly all have a role to play in the fight against Covid-19, hopefully this mesure will help in some small way."

It added: We must put the health of our staff and customers first and that means taking these steps."

Sub Club

Legendary Glasgow nightclub Sub Club has decided to close its doors "temporarily" in what they describe as "unprecedented circumstances which adversely affect so many people working in our community," echoing concerns about coronavirus' impact on the hospitality and entertainment industry.
