WEATHER presenter Laura Piper hit the headlines recently when she revealed she had worn a different charity shop outfit in each of her 100 broadcasts.
Now the STV star is fronting a designer-themed launch for the new Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice store on Crown Street in the Gorbals this Saturday at 10am.
Since issuing the call in February for people to donate their pre-loved designer and high-end clothes, shoes, bags and ornaments, more than 250 items have been handed in, including a Gucci bag, a Mulberry bag, an Armani jacket, Carvela shoes, a Paul Costelloe laptop bag and collectible Capodimonti figures.

Laura said: “I am a true advocate of charity shops and ethical shopping. There’s so much waste when it comes to clothing with many items being worn once or twice and then ending up in landfill. “
She added: “Charity shops really are an invaluable resource for the community to recycle their items and pick up bargains at the same time. I am looking forward to having a look through all their stock - and possibly finding my next broadcast outfit.”
