EURO 2020 has been postponed until 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic, according the Norwegian FA.

UEFA held an emergency conference call with their 55 member associations, the European Clubs Association, the European Leagues and FIFPro via video conference this morning.

The Norwegian FA has said the tournament, which was scheduled to take place across 12 venues in Europe, including Hampden in Glasgow, in June and July, will now take place next year instead.

An official announcement is due this afternoon.

The postponement opens a window for European leagues that have been suspended to be completed this summer.

Elsewhere, the UEFAs Nations League and the European Under-21 Championships are also scheduled to take place next summer.
