The number of people in Greater Glasgow with coronavirus has jumped from 57 to 71.

That's an increase of 14.

It comes as the number of people diagnosed with the deadly virus in Scotland has risen to 266.

In Lanarkshire, the number of cases has gone from 25 to 33.

Meanwhile, the Scotish Government this morning revealed a further three people in Scotland have died from the virus - totalling six fatalities.

The update came as part of the Scottish Government's 2pm daily announcement regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.

Greater Glasgow remains the NHS board in the country with the highest cases.

Ms Sturgeon earlier revealed the doubling in the number of deaths as she spoke to MSPs at First Minister's Questions at Holyrood, with Ms Sturgeon sending her condolences to those who have lost loved ones.

She also said the figure of 266 cases - up 39 from yesterday - was "likely to be an underestimate of the true prevalence of the infection".
