A GLASGOW pub has been broken into just days after asking potential looters to water the plants when it closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Owners of The Thornwood Bar made the difficult decision to shut for the foreseeable future on Monday to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

Vandals broke into the bar on Dumbarton Road at around 2.40am this morning just three days after owners posted that they had “tidied everything away” ahead of the lengthy closure.

But less than two days later, the pub has actually been broken into.

Staff posted on Twitter: "Pub got broken into through the night. Culprits didn’t even water the plants!."

Police have now launched a bid to find the crooks and a spokesperson said: "Police received a report of a break-in at the Thornwood Bar in Dumbarton Road, Glasgow around 2.40am on Thursday, 19 March.

"Enquiries are ongoing any anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101."
