A KNIFE thug left a man badly injured after a fight.

Connor McKenna, 20, attacked Alexander Kerr at a flat in Bellshill last November 22.

The victim was eventually discovered injured outside the property.

Prosecutor Kath Harper told the High Court in Glasgow: “He was found to be bleeding heavily and had two puncture wounds to his stomach.”

Mr Kerr was soon rushed into resuscitation at hospital. His injuries were potentially fatal.

McKenna had fled, but was later identified as the culprit having returned to the street.

The court was told he already had previous convictions for assault and offensive weapon crimes.

McKenna pled guilty to assaulting Mr Kerr to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger of life.

Lady Stacey remanded him in custody pending sentencing next month.
