A HOSPICE in Airdrie who issued an appeal for hygiene supplies and personal protective equipment is "blown away" by support from the Lanarkshire community.
St Andrew's Hospice in Airdrie appealed on Facebook for donations of Personal Protective Equipment and hygiene supplies.
"If you are involved in a business that either uses Personal Protective Equipment and can donate supplies or can source some additional supplies for us, please do what you can to secure this vital equipment on our behalf."
The hospice asked for FFP1 masks or any surgical masks that are fluid repellent, as well as hand sanitiser with more than 60% alcohol.
Within hours the post reached thousands and the hospice was "blown away" by the kindness of the Lanarkshire community.
Issuing thanks on their social media, they said: "Thank you so much to everyone who got in touch with suggested suppliers or dropped off some supplies - every donation or suggestion will help us, will take some pressure of our NHS colleagues to supply and allow us to continue to provide support to the people of Lanarkshire at this difficult time."
