PARKRUNNERS have raised money to install a memorial bench in honour of a core team member.
Queen's parkrun started in Queen's Park in October and Chris was part of the original group that set up the weekly 5k event.
But he died unexpectedly a few days after the first run in October.
Fellow runners have clubbed together to buy a memorial bench that will sit at the highest point of the Queen's Park course.
His wife Audrey said: I would like to thank all who donated to the fund for Chris’s bench and for all the support that the friends/parkrunners have given to me and continue to give to me.
"The parkrun was very supportive of Chris as a member and he got a lot out of it, he was passionate about getting Queens set up because he felt it would bring huge benefits to individuals and the local community.
"He would be amazed at what you have all achieved.
"The bench is a lovely tribute and we can all collapse on it at the top of the hill and think of him.
"So thank you all again and keep running."
