A COMMUNITY council has issued an emotional plea to support vulnerable people amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Helen Carroll, chair of Springburn Community Council has issued a call for volunteers to support their elderly and vulnerable neighbours as the country enters lockdown.
In a Facebook post, Ms Carroll said: “We’re all working together on this. Let’s see if we can batter the hell of out this virus.
“We are a family after all.”
The community council is looking for volunteers to help deliver and pack food parcels, clean people’s homes, or callers to help people trapped in their homes.
The group are working with others in the North Glasgow area to help people most at risk from the virus.
Ms Carroll assured members of the community they would take care to protect the safety of volunteers.
