AN EAST END police station has closed temporarily because of the coronavirus crisis.
Police Scotland said that the porto cabin which was being used as a temporary public office on London Road has closed because its design does not allow for the appropriate social distancing.
A force spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland will continue to serve the people of Scotland to the very best of our abilities in these trying times.
"However we have to look at the safety and deployment of staff in these new circumstances.
"You may be aware that a porto cabin is being used as a temporary public office at London Road Police Office during construction works ( which have now come to a standstill ).
"The design of the public bar and staff area does not permit the required social distancing and is closed at this time with no date set for re-opening.
"Please contact 101 or 999 in an emergency."
