NHS heroes at Warrington Hospital have been fed thanks to a humanitarian charity’s emergency coronavirus campaign.

Since launching its Covid-19 initiative, volunteers from Human Appeal have been busy distributing food and household items to vulnerable people across the country.

Human Appeal has also been handing out meals to NHS workers, with volunteers making a stop at the town’s hospital on April 4 to thank staff for their hard work and sacrifices they are making.

So far, across the country, the organisation has delivered a huge amount of goods, including more than 1,440 hot meals to hospitals and 330 meals and 90 packets of wipes and masks to homeless people.

Abid Shah, who is co-ordinating Human Appeal’s response to the Covid-19 outbreak across the UK, said: “Feeding our NHS heroes is the least we can do to show our appreciation and endless thanks for their efforts during this testing time for us all.

“We’re reaching out to hospitals, mosques and businesses up and down the country to offer Human Appeal’s helping hand in providing assistance for those who need it most.

“We’re proud to do our bit for our communities across the UK so wherever you are, if there is any way we could work together or if you need our help, we want to hear from you.”
