COPS have hit out at illegal riding on quad bikes in Bishopbriggs.

The force said they are dealing with an increase in the use of quad bikes in Cadder Wharf - and urged anyone who is driving one to make sure they have insurance.

The force warned officers will target these offenders at Cadder Wharf and other hotspots for the illegal use of the quad bikes.

It is also understood officers are looking at ways to make certain areas inaccessible to those on bikes.

A force spokesman said: "We have noticed an increase in the use of quad bikes in Cadder Wharf, Bishopbriggs.

"It is illegal riding a quad without insurance and on private land without the owners consent.

"We have off-road bikes available to target these offenders at the Wharf and other hotspots."
