A WOMAN has been celebrated supporting her community during the lockdown.

Ann Lawrence runs the Possilpark group Young People’s Futures (YPF) and immediately sprang into action helping people in the community when lockdown was announced.

“Since March 17, she’s been absolutely non-stop,” said Sadie Henderson, 76, who uses YPF’s services.

Ann praised the work of her team of volunteers, who have been assembling food parcels, meal deliveries and check-in phone calls from their base in the Possilpoint Community Centre.

The group are helping families across North Glasgow, with the help of a total of £25,000 in council funding and donations.

The group has also partnered with Finnieston’s Gannet and Mortons Rolls to provide hot meals, sandwiches and cakes to families.
