A man has been left needing treatment for a head injury after two men flouting lockdown rules brutally jumped him in a Lanarkshire street.

Police say the 36-year-old victim was walking along Bridge Street in Wishaw at around 5.50pm last night when the attack took place.

Two men, not observing social distancing, approached the man and began arguing with him.
