A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy has chosen NHS staff as his new Superheroes.

Matteo Walker chose to make the uniform of NHS nurses when his mother, Claudia Walker, began a new home-schooling project for him and his brother.

Claudia said: "We have been inside for five weeks now.

"I started a recycling project where we made a costume for his superhero out of anything that can be used in the house.

"Matteo wanted to dress up as an NHS worker. When he put on his costume he said to me, 'Look, Mum, I'm a superhero!"

Claudia works in hospitals around Glasgow and Greater Clyde, and was working in Ward 2 of the QEU when the pandemic started.

She added: "To us, the Frontline workers really are the superheroes of this story."

The picture of Matteo was uploaded to Twitter by family friend Jonathan, who is running a fundraiser to shave his head. He has already raised over £3000. Click here for more details.
