A BUSY Glasgow street was sealed off by police due to "concern for a person" near the River Clyde.

Emergency crews were called to Victoria Bridge near to the Clutha pub on Gorbals Street at around 9am this morning.

Road users were urged to avoid the area as emergency services attended to the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman earlier said: "Emergency services are in attendance at the Victoria Bridge in Glasgow following a report of a concern for person.

"The south side of the bridge is currently closed."

A Traffic Information Bulletin from Glasgow City Council confirmed the road had been closed to all traffic.

But they have since updated to say the road is now open in all directions.

The Glasgow Times understands that at least four police vehicles are in attendance, as well as fire and ambulance crews.
