THE team from an Alva brewing company is set to climb the equivalent of a Munro this weekend in a bid to raise NHS funds.

Harviestoun Brewery is looking to net money for NHS Charities Together by bagging a Schiehallion worth of stairs, following last year's effort which saw the team climb their favourite Munro.

They are hoping to make the challenge bigger and better this year, albeit it will be amid different circumstances due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Schiehallion – a Munro in Perthshire – was chosen as it also lends its name to Harviestoun lager.

While a physical climb is not possible, the team will climb the equivalent height of the Munro inside their own houses, between May 1 and 3.

To scale all 1,083 metres participants will go up and down a flight of stairs around 361 times.

Others are encouraged to join in by sending pictures using #aMunroOfStairs on social media and by nominating friends to do the challenge with them virtually.
