GLASGOW Canal Festival, due to take place on July 25, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Director Sally Hobson said she hoped to stage smaller events in the area later in the year if restrictions were lifted.
She added : “Glasgow Canal Festival is a place for the vibrant communities of north and west Glasgow and further afield to come together in celebration of our unique waterway, and we hoped this year’s event would be the best yet.
“We pride ourselves on putting on a safe event for all, and this can’t be guaranteed this summer.”
She added: “We’re working on the 2021 festival and ensuring this is a fitting and unforgettable celebration after what will have been a difficult time for so many of us.”
