The charity Glasgow the Caring City has said it is 'devastated' after a project worker died after contracting Covid-19.
It said that a member of the Soap Aid team, which has been delivering hygiene packs to frontline workers and volunteers, had passed away today.
The charity, which is led by Ross Galbraith, son of the Reverend Neil Galbraith of Cathcart Parish Church, has upscaled its efforts during the pandemic.
We are devistated by the loss of one of our SoapAid team to Covid19. Sadly they lost their battle in the past few hours. This is really devistating for all of us, our thoughts & prayers are with the family & friends. Rest well. Thank you for all you done in aid of others.

Mr Galbraith said the charity would not be releasing any further details about the worker out of respect for the family.
The Govan charity was set up 20 years ago to help communities around the world in times of need, such as following natural disasters or during civil conflict.
The Soap Aid initiative prioritises frontline volunteers, NHS workers, looked after children and police officers.
