A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after a crash near the motorway. 

The man was involved in a collision with a car on St Georges Road, near the M8 at Charing Cross at around 8pm tonight. 

He was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary as a precaution and suffered only minor injuries, police confirmed.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We received a report of a collision between a car and a cyclist on St George's Road, Glasgow, around 8pm on Tuesday, April 28.

"The cyclist suffered minor injuries and he was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary as a precaution."
