A woman has told how she’s been left terrified in her own home after receiving a “Covid-19 death threat”.

The 50-year-old, who asked not to be named, was shocked when she opened an envelope that contained three biohazard stickers, a bit of paper that said “Covid-19 sample”, along with a note that read “Just A Wee WARNING HaHa”.

A second note was also inside but the pages were stuck together and it could not be opened.

Cops are investigating the incident and are understood to have sent the items away to be forensically examined.

The woman told our sister title The Clydebank Post she suspects she knows who was behind the sick delivery – and says that she has been targeted by a stalker who has been terrorising her for the past year.

She said: “I have got a mail box and the postman came about half past 11, so I said to myself ‘I’ll get that letter when I go out to walk the dog’.

“So after coming back the walk, I saw it sticking out – and I knew straight away it was from him.

“I thought ‘here we go again’ but I wasn’t expecting what was inside.

“When I knew it was him, I went and got gloves to take it out the mail box and opened it all up.

“It was really frightening, especially with what’s going on just now.

“It made me feel physically sick. My legs just started shaking.”

After discovering what was inside, the woman called the police who arrived a couple of hours later to investigate.

Officers took the envelope and its contents and have sent it off to be forensically examined.

The woman added: “I really hope they get something off it. I’ve been left terrified.

“I just go into panic mode now, especially with me being in the house myself.

“I can’t get to see my family, so it makes the situation so much worse.

“I don’t know how to describe how I’m feeling right now.

“I’m just not functioning. I keep getting up at two and three o’clock in the morning and checking my CCTV.”
