A MAN will appear in court in connection with the death of a woman in East Kilbride. 

It comes after officers attended an address in Park Terrace around 4.30pm on Thursday. They received a report of concerns for the occupant. 
 
Louise Aitchison, 33, was found within her home and pronounced dead at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Following a post-mortem today,  her death is now being treated as murder. 
 
A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with Louise’s death and is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday. 
 
Detective Inspector Sandy MacKinnon of the Major Investigation Team said: “Our thoughts are with Louise’s family at this incredibly difficult time and we are keeping them fully updated on the progress of our enquiries. 
 
"As we continue to seek answers for them, I urge anyone who may have information which could be relevant to contact us or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.”
