SINGING superstar Lewis Capaldi has sent a message of support to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde nurses to mark International Day of the Nurse.
In the broadcast, Lewis, whose mum works at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, said: “Hello to all the Regional Services nurses, it’s Lewis Capaldi here and I just wanted to say Happy International Nurses’ Day.
"Thanks very much for all the work you do and hope you have a good day."
Lead Nurse, Lynsay Creighton, said the message would be a huge boost for staff.
She added: “Due to the lockdown, we are not able to have the big party that was initially planned, however, this message is sure to boost morale. I mean, who doesn’t love Lewis Capaldi?”
There are events planned throughout NHSGGC to mark the day, including videos, displays of nurse portraits and virtual celebrations.
The message comes the day before Lewis promised to welcome fans to his West Lothian home for an intimate virtual gig.
The concert will be streamed on his Facebook page at 12 noon.
