A 53-year-old man has been arrested after a window of an Anderston church was smashed last week.

Police have labelled the vandalism attack as "motivated by prejudice".

A Tweet by Glasgow North West Police reads: "Police officers from the community team have today arrested a man, who, motivated by prejudice, vandalised a Church in the Anderston area.

"This type of behaviour has no place in Glasgow and Police Scotland will actively pursue those who perpetrate such crimes."

A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A force spokeswoman said: "A 53-year-old man is subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the vandalism of a church in William Street, Glasgow, which happened on Thursday, 7 May, 2020, when a window was smashed."
