A TV favourite is bringing joy to children in North Glasgow with a local group.

Kaye Adams, host of BBC Scotland’s morning radio show has been reading children’s favourites from the Gruffalo to Room on the Broom, in conjunction with Home-Start Glasgow North.

Nikki O’Hara, Home-Start’s scheme manager said: “Kaye is very passionate, with her it’s from the heart.

“She takes on people’s suggestions and on Friday, she’s reading Room on the Broom.

"We are delighted to have Kaye supporting our work. Her true understanding and commitment to our project makes all the difference and she is able to connect with families at this difficult time."

She reads live to the group’s Facebook audience live, sometimes accompanied by her dog, Bee.

The group works to support families in need from its base in Maryhill and has continued its work in lockdown by hosting a range of digital events including an online source of recipes from a Home Economics teacher and singing sessions with the group’s choir teacher, Rachel Lightbody.

The group also hosts wellbeing tips, a weekly talent show on Tuesdays and a representative from Downs' Syndrome Scotland to teach Makaton - a system of communication for people with learning difficulties - is also coming up.

You can find Kaye's stream live here on Friday at 11am.
