THE bad – the country will be in lockdown for a bit longer. The silver lining – Scottish bands continue to churn out amazing songs to keep us all going.

It’s no exaggeration to say that many will be comforted during this time by turning to their favourite songs. And for those using the time to discover new music, there is so much on offer.

This Friday, May 15, we have new tracks from RAAB, FOREIGNFOX, Fourth Daughter, Tamzene and the next big star in the form of Luke La Volpe.

Foreignfox – Exit Frame
A first release of the year for the Fife band – but surely a shout for the track of the year shortlist.

One-line review: “A haunting, reflective and powerful anthem with a stunning vocal performance.”
FFO: Layaway, Oskar Braves, Thrice

Fourth Daughter – Run
Without a doubt one the emerging talents of the swelling electro-pop scene, Fourth Daughter shows her range with a third style in as many releases.

FFO: Empress Of, Shura, stmartiins

Luke La Volpe – Terribly Beautiful EP
Is there an artist more deserving of a break than Luke La Volpe? The stand-out track from the three-track EP simply must be Familiar Bliss.

Alloa and Hillfoots Advertiser:

FFO: Jeff Buckley, Shawn James, Lewis Capaldi

RAAB – Bluebird
Just try and not tap the feet to this belter. RAAB is definitely one to keep an eye out for in the future.

FFO: Morganway, Fleetwood Mac, Cody Feechan.

Tamzene – Accidentally Told You
Picture a devoted old couple slow-dancing their last ever dance to the gramophone in winter. This is the soundtrack.
