A SPECIALIST police unit patrolled North Glasgow streets this weekend in a bid to crackdown on speeding quad bikes.
Officers in off-road bikes visited some of the speeding hot spots in a bid to catch those on quad and trail bikes racing in streets and open spaces.

We previously reported how the specialist Divisional Violence Reduction Unit (DVRU) was deployed to target crime hotspots across the city with officers reporting a drop in crime in three-quarters of the key zones they attend. It is understood they were requested by the North Glasgow sub-division to tackle the escalating problem.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers from DVRU carried out some proactive patrols in our sub division over the weekend.
"Anti social use of off-road bikes and quads will be dealt with robustly and items seized."
