POLICE have launched a major search for a 14-year-old girl who has been going through a tough time recently.

Tya Miller, 14, was last seen in the early hours of this morning at 12.45 am near Stepends Road, Kilbarchan.

She is described as around 5 ft 9 inches, of medium build with long brown hair.

When last seen, she was wearing a black jacket, black leggings and carrying a small black backpack.

UPDATE: Tyla has been traced and is safe and well.

Sergeant Ross Laughlan, of Renfrew Police Office, said: "Tya has been going through a tough time recently and we are concerned for her welfare. We want to make sure she is safe and would appeal to anyone in this area to look out for her. Tya also has connections to the Bargeddie area and to West Lothian.

"Tya - if you see this, we would also ask you to please get in touch with police to let us know that you are okay."

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 0226 of 19 May.
