A POLICE probe has been launched after video footage emerged of a taunting Celtic fan inside Ibrox Stadium - hours after the Hoops claimed their nine-in-a-row league title.

The video was posted on the social media website Twitter yesterday and shows a man walking around an empty Ibrox stadium waving a nine-in-a-row Celtic flag.

Initially Police Scotland said they had not been made aware of the incident but the force later confirmed that they were investigating the security breach after Rangers reported the trespasser.

The video, which contains strong and offensive language, does not reveal the man’s identity, only his voice.

In the video, the man said: “The f***ing flag is waving, it’s f***ng waving.

“They’ve probably phoned the coppers by noo.

“I hope I don’t get caught coming oot here. I’ll f***ing do a screw or two.

“See yas.”

The man appears to leave the flag in the middle of the park before leaving.

The footage has since racked up almost a quarter of a million views.

A Rangers FC spokesman said: “The club has made Police Scotland aware of the breach of security at the stadium and they are investigating the matter.”

A Police Scotland spokesman added: “The matter has now been reported to Police Scotland and enquiries are at an early stage.”
