A NEW supermarket has officially opened its doors in the Gorbals creating 30 jobs.

The Food Warehouse is now operating out of a retail park in Crown Street where staff showed their thanks for local NHS heroes by donating hundreds of pounds to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Moffatt Street Care Home to support with buying food and drink during the lockdown period.

The supermarket will also have a dedicated shopping hour for the NHS during the first hour of trading, to ensure that frontline staff can get the food they need.
