A SUSPECT is accused of attacking a man in a Co-Op store.

William Darroch, 37, allegedly assaulted Craig Fox while acting with another in January this year.

Darroch is said to have pursued Mr Fox through the branch in Rutherglen Main Street, South Lanarkshire.

Prosecutors claim Darroch repeatedly punched Mr Fox on the head and body.

It is then claimed Mr Fox was also repeatedly kicked on the body before being struck with a glass bottle and tin cans.

It is alleged this was to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

A hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court was postponed today due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The matter was dealt with administratively and a new hearing date is set for July this year.

Darroch has made no plea and remains on bail at his Rutherglen address meantime.
