THE owner of the O2 Academy has submitted plans to revamp the B-listed building.
Academy Music Group wants to redecorate the rear and sides of the Eglinton Street venue after work on the facade was completed in January.
A planning report states the building looks "tired" and detracts from the recently completed redecoration work at the front.

"It is intended to uplift the rear and side elevation decoration to complement the successful front elevation redecoration scheme and, as part of this change, try to incorporate the venue sponsor O2 corporate colours," the plans add.
The report says the sponsor has "expressed concern as to the condition of the rear and side elevations now that the front has been uplifted".
It is hoped the work would "make a positive contribution to the character of the venue".
The building, which was previously a cinema and bingo hall, has a capacity of 2500.
