SCOTTISH Labour’s Monica Lennon has called for hospital Covid-19 infection death rates to be made public.
The policitian made the plea after the Glasgow Times revealed that a city hospital experienced a surge in cases of the virus after elderly patients were transferred from the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to Gartnavel.
Whistleblowers say there has been 81 cases and 25 deaths in the past few weeks and say many patients had tested negative when they were admitted to Gartnavel and blamed open bays for the spread.
In response to our story Ms Lennon tweeted: “The Scottish Government must provide an urgent update on the number of hospital acquired cases of COVID-19.”
The Scottish Government has said is continuing to monitor both community and hospital acquired infections.
