FIRE services raced to a blaze at flats on Alexandra Parade.
A cloud of black smoke was seen coming from the bin area below flats on the East End thoroughfare.
An eyewitness said: "It happened just at the clap for the NHS, smoked plumed so quickly. We were shouting for people to get out their flats."
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "There was a bin on fire at Alexandra Parade.
"The fire has been extinguished and we're away from it now."
