A MAN is accused of setting two cars on fire and causing damage to houses.

Josh Anderson, 25, allegedly ignited the vehicles in Glasgow’s Pollokshields and Cambuslang last October and November.

Prosecutors claim Anderson “wilfully set fire” to a Toyota Landcruiser and BMW 118 Sport.

It is said Anderson went on to throw paint on the windows and walls of a property in the city’s Newlands.

It is claimed he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by repeatedly striking the door of a flat in the city’s Govan with a machete.

He allegedly stole a watch from the flat before apparently being found in the possession of diazepam and the blade.

The latest incidents are said to have taken place in February this year all while on bail.

Anderson pleaded not guilty on Friday from the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

A new hearing date was set for July this year by Sheriff Paul Crozier who continued Anderson’s remand in custody meantime.
