Five people were injured in a disturbance which took place around 6.20pm on Saturday in Hamilton. 

Officers were called out to Avon Street to reports of two injured women, aged 32 and 34. 

After emergency services rushed to the scene, it was revealed another two women and one man, 30, were also injured following the incident. 

A 32-year-old woman was taken to Hairmyres Hospital to receive treatment for a laceration to her face.

The 30-year-old man was taken to Wishaw General Hospital, alongside two of the injured women, aged 34 and 24. 

All three were treated for facial injuries. 

The fourth woman reportedly ran from the scene upon the arrival of the Police. 

A woman, 34, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. She is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday. 

Another two, a man, 30, and a woman, 32, were arrested but have not been charged following the incident. 

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident and are carrying out a search for the woman who fled the scene.

A police spokeswoman said: "Around 6:20pm on Saturday 24 May 2020, police received a report of two women, aged 32 and 34, being injured in Avon Street, Hamilton. 

"Emergency services attended and further enquiries revealed a disturbance had taken place between five people, resulting in a further two women and one man being injured."
