TWO MEN are accused of assaulting a man with a machete before allegedly telling him they would return to bomb his home.
Scott Smith, 34, and Steven McCormack, 31, are said to have attacked Roderick McKinnon at his flat in Glasgow’s Mount Florida in January this year.
Prosecutors claim the pair threatened to shot Mr McKinnon and entered the property uninvited.
It is claimed Mr McKinnon was pursued before being repeatedly struck on the head and body with a machete to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
Smith and McCormack then allegedly threatened to return before making the bomb threat.
The offences are said to have taken place when the pair were on bail for separate matters.
McCormack pleaded not guilty today from the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Smith, who is on bail, also pleaded not guilty through his lawyer Harvie Diamond.
A new hearing date was set for July this year by Sheriff Paul Crozier who continued McCormack’s remand in custody.
Smith, of Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, remains on bail for the matter meantime.
