POLICE have launched an investigation after members of the public contacted them over a man acting suspiciously in a Glasgow park.

The Glasgow Times understands that residents have been concerned about a man 'harassing' teenage girls within Tollcross Park. It is understood that he has been asking the youngsters questions and may have been chased off on one occasion.

It is also understood that he has been targeting lone woman in the park.

One post said: "My partner took our puppy out for a walk in Tollcross Park. My partner looks quite young although she is 30.

"A man came up to her, said he was from Iraq and didn't speak much English.

"He started bombarding her trying to get her details, phone number, and where she lives.

"He wouldn't leave her alone until she said she was a married woman.

"Once she eventually got away from him, she saw him approach three separate young girls to try the same thing."

There have been similar reports of a man behaving in the same way in nearby Parkhead and Shettleston.
