The Coastguard helicopter was called to assist in the search and a man was found on a ledge at Beachy Head cliffs
THE Coastguard helicopter was scrambled after reports of a man falling from a cliff.
Police joined Coastguard crews at Beachy Head shortly before 8.45pm last night as officers responded to the incident.
Teams from both services carried out a search of the area and found a 53-year-old man on a ledge.
He was recovered and taken to hospital with minor injuries. A Sussex Police spokeswoman said he was left in the care of medical staff.
