AN APPEAL has been launched for the whereabouts of two girls who were last seen at a railway station.

Police say they are concerned for 13-year-old Harriet Nimmo and Madison McKinder, 12, "due to their age and vulnerabilities".

The pair have been missing since yesterday afternoon, having last been seen together at Worthing railway station at 5pm.

Harriet is 5ft 6in tall and of medium build, with black hair which she often ties up.

Police have also said she has a beauty mole between her top lip and nostril.

The teenager was last seen wearing a black coat, black trainers, black leggings and a black top.

Madison is 5ft 7in tall and athletic. She has brown hair with blonde highlights which she sometimes wears in a bun.

The 12-year-old was wearing black Puma leggings, pink Nike trainers and a white England rugby shirt  when she went missing.

PC Heather Burrage said: "We are concerned about Harriet and Madison due to their age and vulnerabilities. Please let us know if you see them or have any information about their whereabouts."

Shortly after 3pm, Adur and Worthing Police released an update to say the girls had been found.

A spokesman for the force thanked people for their help in sharing the police appeal to find the two girls.

He said: "We bring good news. Missing Worthing girls Harriet Nimmo and Madison McKinder have been found safe and well."
