EX-RANGERS star Jorg Albertz has shared a video of himself cutting his wife's hair as she prepares to fight cancer again.

The 49-year-old German footballer told his fans that his wife Mirjana received the news a couple of weeks ago that her cancer had returned.

In a video posted on Instagram, the former Ibrox star shared the moment in a bid to raise awareness.

He said: "It is not a nice situation. We are positive, my wife is quite positive that she will fight it again.

"But today is the day we take the hair off. We thought we would put it on Instagram so you can see it. I think it is very important to keep it positive and that is the message for everyone who has cancer."

In a post accompanying the video, he added: "No surrender to cancer."

Albertz, who played for Rangers from 1996 to 2001, recently joined the social media website where he also paid tribute to his former club.

He said: "Thanks for the memories! It was always special to play for a wonderful club like Rangers. I only kissed the badge after scoring... that's why it became a love affair... it happened a lot.
