TWO SUSPECTS have appeared in court charged with the assault of a pensioner which was apparently linked to organised crime.
Ian Donnelly, 23, and James Quinn, 21, allegedly attacked Janette Connell, 69, in Glasgow’s Milton area in January this year.
The pair are said to have struck Miss Connell with a baton to her severe injury at the property in Castlebay Street.
Prosecutors claim the attack was aggravated by a “connection with serious organised crime.”
It is understood Miss Connell was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary due to a facial injury but has since been discharged.
No plea was made by the suspects today at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Donnelly will appear in court again on Tuesday, June 23.
Quinn of Springburn was granted bail and Donnelly was remanded in custody by Sheriff Paul Reid pending further examination.
