A CITY hairdressers is closing its doors after nine years citing the coronavirus pandemic as the reason.

Devastated staff at Couture Hair, Nails and Beauty, which is based in Clarkston Road, Muirend, told customers the decision was not an easy one to make.

In a statement, the firm said: "I am writing this with a very heavy heart 💓 but unfortunately due to the recent Covid 19 pandemic we are shutting the doors of Couture for good. It was not an easy decision to make but it’s for the best.

"The health and wellbeing of our staff and clients had to be our priority.

"I would like to thank all our amazing team and clients that we have had over the last nine years. Full of fun, laughter, and mischief."

Heartbroken customers offered their support to the staff at the salon.

Nikki Hill said: "I am so so sorry to see this girl. You guys are a great team and worked hard to create what you did. This is such sad news. I hope you are all OK."

Kirsty O'Brien added: "This is so sad but I don’t think you will be the only ones in this situation.

"It will be so hard to work and actually earn any money with all the new rules and regulations!

"You guys have worked so hard and should be so proud of yourselves for the last nine years. All the best to you all."
